About XINXUE.AI

From the original texts, back to everyday life

XINXUE.AI is a tool for reading, searching and thinking with Wang Yangming's School of Mind. We want the classics to be easier to enter, and every explanation easier to check.

Original first, explanation second

Original texts keep their edition, source line and a stable passage number. Editorial guides are marked as modern study notes. Text produced by a language model is labelled “AI explanation”. The three are never blended into words attributed to the ancients.

When there is no evidence, we say so

The Ask tool (in Chinese) first searches the site's own texts, and direct quotations must match the candidate passage character for character. When there is not enough support, it does not invent sentences to fill the gap.

What is translated

Menus, these four guide pages and short glosses are translated by our editors. The classical texts and the 332 dictionary entries stay in Chinese. Translations of quoted lines are working renderings for orientation, not authoritative translations.

Sources and their status

The Chuanxi lu and Wang Yangming's shorter writings are electronic texts awaiting collation with printed editions. The Records of Ming Scholars comes from Wikisource (Siku quanshu base text, CC BY-SA 4.0). Lu Xiangshan's sayings are a machine transcription of the Sibu congkan edition, punctuated by this site and not yet proofread.

Privacy

Saved passages, reading position and your practice notes are stored only in your browser. A question is sent to the server-side model service only after you tick the consent box. The site uses no analytics or tracking scripts.
